Moderately attractive Pt. 2

It seemed like an eternity before Gideon got a response to his date request from Avery. He was glad she called, but he was also aggravated that she led him on for so long. It seemed so arrogant to him. But there was something about her he couldn't quite put his finger on, and he liked that, so he buried his resentment. He got a haircut, he got new clothes, and he was ready.

Moderately attractive

It was a big, big day for Gideon Fischer. Gideon's Books, the bookstore he owned, had been doing phenomenally well. Today was the day he was going to have a published author come in and do a reading and a signing, and he hoped it would attract more customers. It didn't hurt that he was a huge fan of the novel. He meticulously prepared for the day ahead.

Rack 'Em Up

The illness and sudden death of the Sr. Mr. Costillo had come as a shock. A perpetual cough (brought on by years of smoking) he'd had for years turned out to be late-stage lung cancer. He joked that it was revenge from beyond the grave, by all the poor souls who he left sleepin' with the fishes. He left his family struggling to sort out his affairs.
