Temperatures of 100 degrees and upwards have been recorded in Port Manteaux. Reports indicate that this could be part of a larger trend lasting a week or more. Residents are warned to stay indoors as much as possible and avoid any unnecessary physical labor. Two sims have already fallen unconscious in their lawns from heat exhaustion.
Today, outside the administration building, mayor Erica Lansing met with reporters to issue a warning to residents. She was clammy and sweating, and warned everyone that this wasn't a situation to be taken lightly. She also had an announcement to make, something she couldn't hide anymore.
"My husband and I would like to announce and, in this case, confirm the rumors that we are expecting our second child. Christopher and I are thrilled and Maya can't wait to be a big sister. This will not affect my ability to do my job, but city council president Micah Campbell promises to stand in for me if any health issues should arise. And thank you to everyone who has wished us the best."
The mayor then jokingly said, "now, let's get this pregnant woman out of the heat!" before leaving the podium.
At home, she spent a little time outside with her daughter before they both started to overheat and moved inside.
Looks like it is going to be a good week for the lemonade stand industry.
